The power of the Holy Spirit (4 May)
Dear Friends,
I feel greatly inspired with the power of the Holy Spirit this week. A day of Diocesan training and a Parish Council meeting have left me buoyed. Preparing this week’s sermon has also been a source of comfort. Our Sunday gospel (found in John 21) provides an inspiring example of the Resurrected Lord meeting with despondent disciples who have been on an unsuccessful fishing trip. When Jesus appears on the shore everything changes. He feeds them at a Eucharistic BBQ! We are invited into this eternal moment of recognition of abundance and forgiveness.
Our sausage sizzle on election day was a community event and an opportunity to showcase one of our beautiful churches. Sincere thanks to the dedicated team who worked to ready us for the event. Thank you. We also have a new and exciting initiative concerning our Op Shop. As we celebrate the Resurrection we are reminded that God is good and we never know what new opportunities will open before us.
With love and blessings,
Linda
