Brotherhood Community Store

The store is open!

Founded as an Anglican religious community by Fr Gerald Tucker, the Brotherhood of St Laurence is one of Australia’s most visionary and inspiring agencies of social action and advocacy. It is named for the third-century saint who when told to hand over the treasures of the church to the Roman Imperial authorities, gathered together all the poor, to whom he had distributed the wealth, and said ‘Here are the treasures of the church.’

In partnership with All Saints, the Brotherhood of St Laurence operates the Northcote community store (op shop) from our hall.

The shop offers quality used clothing and other small items at very reasonable prices and is well worth a visit. Donations and new volunteers are welcome when the store is open.

Opening hours

  • Tuesday – Saturday 10.00 am to 4.30 pm
  • Closed on Mondays, Sundays and Public Holidays

Donations

Donations are welcome at the Store, but only during opening hours. Please do not leave bagged or loose clothes or other donations at a time when no staff are there to receive them.

Volunteer work

If you are interested in working at the Store on a voluntary basis, please let the manager know during your visit, or call 9489 6183 during opening hours.
