About us

All Saints is one of three churches within the Parish of South Darebin. It is a beautiful bluestone building, and one of the earliest churches built in Northcote. The church is classified by the National Trust as of local historical significance.

In an area of relatively low Anglican membership, we maintain a small but faithful presence and share the desire to serve God with people of many other faiths, including Orthodox and Muslim communities.

Our church is a place of permanent welcome

We seek to share with others our experience of God and to make All Saints a place of permanent welcome, a refuge and anchor for the human spirit.

Reverence for liturgy and joy in music are central to our worship. We seek to be close to God in the celebration of Baptism and in the breaking of the bread. We are traditional, but we welcome difference and diversity and are open to new ideas.

The defining spiritual features of our community are love, tolerance, warmth and inclusiveness. We care about hospitality, participation, and the gifts each person brings, regardless of age or abilities or sexual preferences or any other personal characteristic. We love children and young people. We treat outcasts and fringe dwellers compassionately and support agencies of social action.

We are enriched by our connection with other churches and we respect the different identities of each church community. We value our connection with the Brotherhood of St Laurence and are active participants in inter-faith activity.

We know there are many people who are seeking connection with God even if they are not sure what they believe or not sure what we believe. We don’t judge people by whether they attend church, and we hope that everyone who comes to All Saints knows immediately that they will always be welcome.

With our support the Brotherhood of St Laurence operates a shop from our hall on weekdays. The shop offers quality used clothing and other small items at very reasonable prices, and is well worth a visit. You can also leave donations at the shop, but only during opening hours.

Meeting Room

The meeting room is a carpeted room with chairs and tables for up to 40 people, and with access to kitchen and toilet facilities. It is available for hire for meetings or other suitable small functions when not in use by the church community.
